Check of pressure of oil

Pressure drop of oil can be considered as a sign of that the engine needs regenerative repair. The control lamp of pressure of oil is not the instrument of diagnostics of system of greasing, and only informs the driver on dangerous decrease in oil pressure. Even the measuring instrument of pressure of oil built in the dashboard, despite a big detail of issued information, it is possible to consider only as the device of information character. For data acquisition about pressure of oil which then can be compared to requirements of Specifications, it is necessary to use mechanical (not electric) a manometer in a combination to an exact tachometer.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1a. Find the block of the sensor switch of pressure of oil (see accompanying illustrations). On the Civic models the sensor switch of pressure of oil is directly over the oil filter (in a picture the filter is removed).

1b. On the Integra models the sensor switch of pressure of oil is assembly from the oil filter.

2. Remove the sensor switch and establish instead of it a transitional nozzle for connection of a mechanical manometer. For sealing of carving connection of a nozzle use a teflon sealing tape, or a tape FUM.
3. According to instructions of manufacturers connect to the engine an exact tachometer.
4. Check pressure of oil at working on the turns stipulated in Specifications and the heated-up engine to normal working temperature. Compare results of measurements to standard data. At excessively low pressure of oil it is necessary to estimate degree of wear of bearings and the oil pump.
