System of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR) – the general information, check of a condition and replacement of components

General information

For the purpose of decrease in issue in the atmosphere of oxides of nitrogen the part of the fulfilled gases comes back to the inlet pipeline via the EGR valve. Such podmeshivaniye of the fulfilled gases to an air and fuel mix leads to decrease in temperature of its combustion.

The system consists of the EGR valve, the electromagnetic valve of management of EGR (it is used only on some models), the sensor of opening of the EGR valve and the module of management (ESM/RSM). ESM/RSM is programmed so that to provide optimum extent of opening of the EGR valve for any operating conditions of the engine. The special information sensor constantly traces extent of opening of the EGR valve, giving out the corresponding signals on the management module. ESM/RSM compares entering information to the data arriving from other sensors and, in case of need makes correction of depth of the depression submitted on the EGR valve through the electromagnetic valve of management.

Check

The models equipped with CVT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the engine and warm up it to normal working temperature (the fan of system of cooling should turn on).
2. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the EGR valve and connect to it the vacuum gage.
3. Depression should be absent, if this condition is carried out, pass to performance of procedures of paragraph 5.
4. If depression takes place, disunite the socket of the electromagnetic valve of management of EGR and again check depression existence on the EGR valve.

To find the electromagnetic valve, walk on a vacuum hose from the EGR valve. If depression is absent, drive away the car on car repair shop for carrying out diagnostics ESM/RSM with use of the special input reader (see. Check of serviceability of a condition and replacement of the sensor of VMT/provision of cranked shaft/position of pistons in cylinders of the engine (TDC/CKP/CYP)). In the presence of depression check correctness of laying of vacuum lines. If hoses as it should be, replace the electromagnetic valve.


5. If depression was not from the very beginning, connect to the EGR valve the manual vacuum pump and create depression by depth of 203 mm of mercury. – the engine should decay. Check also ability of the valve to hold depression if such ability is absent, replace assembly.
6. Check existence of tension of the battery on the electromagnetic valve of management of EGR. Disunite the 2-contact socket of the valve and connect the voltmeter between the positive plug of the socket of the main plait (the plug of a red wire) and weight. Tension of the battery should take place.
7. Connect the vacuum gage to a vacuum hose of the EGR valve and start the engine on single turns. By means of a wire crossing point connect the positive plug of the battery to the plug of a red wire from a reverse side of the socket from a plait. Watching vacuum gage indications, earth the second plug of the 2-contact socket by means of the second wire crossing point. Depth of depression should increase within one second (the sound of operation of the electromagnetic valve should be audible). If depression is absent, replace assembly of the electromagnetic EGR valve.
8. More detailed diagnostics of system demands use of the special input reader and should be made in the conditions of a car-care center workshop.

Models with RKPP

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the engine and warm up it to normal working temperature (the fan of system of cooling should work).
2. Disunite the 6-contact socket of the EGR valve and make sure available tension of the battery between plugs of pink and black wires of the main plait of electroconducting. If tension is absent, check a pink wire on a site between the valve and ESM/RSM on existence of signs of break and weakening of fastening of contact connections. Also check reliability of grounding of a black wire. If electroconducting as it should be, the car has to be driven away on car repair shop for detailed diagnostics ESM/RSM.
3. If tension of the battery takes place, muffle the engine. By means of a wire crossing point connect the positive plug of the battery to the plug of a pink wire of the 6-contact socket of electroconducting of the EGR/sensor valve of extent of its opening. Start the engine on single turns and by means of the second wire crossing point earth the plug of a black wire of the socket. Stability of turns of idling should be broken sharply, up to an engine stop, otherwise replace valve/sensor assembly. If any changes in operation of the engine does not occur, check electroconducting on break and reliability of fastening of contact connections.
4. More detailed diagnostics of system demands use of the special input reader and should be made in the conditions of a car-care center workshop.

Replacement of components

EGR valve

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect electroconducting from the sensor of opening of the EGR valve. Disconnect a vacuum hose.
2. Give two fixing nuts and remove the EGR valve from the inlet pipeline.
3. Smooth out interfaced surfaces of the valve and its transitional nozzle.
4. Replace sealing laying and establish the EGR valve on the regular place. Strongly tighten fixing nuts.
5. Restore initial connection of electroconducting.

The electromagnetic valve of management of EGR (only models with CVT)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Having walked on a vacuum hose from the EGR valve, find the electromagnetic valve of management of system. Disconnect electroconducting and vacuum hoses, turn out fixing screws and remove the valve.
2. Installation is made upside-down.
