System of electronic injection of fuel (EFI) – the general information

All cars considered in the real Management are equipped with system of programmed injection of fuel (PGM-FI) (see illustrations at the beginning of the present Chapter) which can be functionally broken into three main subsystems: system of supply of air, electronic control system and system of supply of fuel. Management of functioning of system carries out the module of control of capacity (RSM) complete with information sensors (temperatures of cooling liquid, the provision of a butterfly valve [TPS], absolute pressure in the pipeline [MAR], etc.). on the basis of the analysis of information of RSM arriving from sensors defines optimum at present structure of an air and fuel mix.

Functioning of system of injection is close crossed with work of system of decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases, be more detailed information on which can is obtained from materials of Head of the Control system of the engine.

System of supply of air

The system consists of an air purifier, air sleeves, the case of a throttle, the device of stabilization of turns of idling and the inlet pipeline. Included in structure of an inlet air line the volume resonator allows to lower level of noise made by the engine essentially.

Cases of a throttle has a single-chamber design, cross line on the Civic models with D16Y5 and D16Y8 engines, and niskhodyashche-line on all other. The lower part of the case of a throttle is warmed up by cooling liquid of the engine in order to avoid an icing in frosty weather. The screw of adjustment of turns of idling is located from above on the throttle case. The sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS) is connected to an axis of the last and traces extent of its opening.

System of supply of fuel

Number of components of system of supply of fuel treat: the electric fuel pump of pogruzhny type, a regulator of pressure of fuel, injection injectors, a quencher of pulsations of fuel (it is applied only on some models) and the main relay of system of injection.

The electric fuel pump is located in a fuel tank. The pump sucks in fuel from a tank through filtering element, then pumps over it via the additional fuel filter and submits to injection injectors.

The regulator of pressure of fuel provides a constant pressure of supply of fuel to injectors. Excess of fuel on the returnable line goes back to a fuel tank.

Injectors represent electromagnetic valves with a constant course. The main components of an injector are: an operating electromagnet, a plunzher and the needle valve. All listed details are placed in the general case. When passing an electric current on the solenoid coil the needle valve is slightly opened and fuel under a pressure fills a cavity of the case of an injector and выпрыскивается through its nozzle. The amount of injected fuel is defined by duration of time of opening of the valve, i.e., duration of giving of tension on the electromagnet coil.

Lasting inclusions of injectors RSM operates. In memory of the module base values of time of opening of valves for various combinations of entering parameters (turns of the engine and amount of soaked-up air) are put. Necessary information arrives on the module in the form of signals from various sensors of the engine.

The main relay of system of injection is established at the left or on the right before a windscreen under the panel of a fairing and the second consists of two working elements one of which represents the RSM relay and fuel injectors, and – the relay of the fuel pump.
