Removal and installation of the steering mechanism

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Park the car with the forward wheels developed in rectilinear situation. Under the dashboard uncover the connecting hinge of a steering column (see an accompanying illustration). 2. Mark the provision of an intermediate shaft of a steering column in relation to an entrance shaft of the steering mechanism, then release the coupling screw (see an accompanying illustration). 3. To Poddomkratta a car front also establish it on props. Cock the parking brake. Having taken out the ignition key from the lock, block a steering column. Rotation of a steering wheel by the removed reechny transfer is fraught with failure of the cable SRS reel. 4. Remove from transmission draft of a drive of switching and a jet bar of the lever of gear shifting (model from RKPP), or a cable of a drive of gear shifting (model from AT) (see. Head gear shifting Box). 5. Remove the catalytic converter (see. Head of the Power supply system and release). 6a. Get drain capacity under a case of the steering mechanism. Disconnect from a case of the steering mechanism hydraulic lines of PAS system (at once закупорьте the open ends of lines for the purpose of minimization of losses of liquid and in order to avoid hit in dirt system) (see an accompanying illustration). 6b. At the corresponding complete set remove an edge of rigidity of the chassis (see an accompanying illustration). 7. Liberate tips of steering drafts from levers of rotary fists (see. Removal and installation of tips of steering drafts). Remove a tip of the left draft. 8a. Prop up the steering mechanism from below and give bolts of its fastening (see accompanying illustrations). 8b. Omit assembly of reechny transfer, accurately deducing an intermediate shaft of a steering column from gearing with entrance shaft of the mechanism. Shift assembly of the steering mechanism as it is possible further to the right and develop it entrance shaft forward. Lower the left end of assembly under a frame and, gradually displacing to the left, take reechny transfer from under the car.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Get assembly of the steering mechanism on the regular place and enter its entrance shaft into gearing with intermediate shaft of a steering column (track correctness of combination of the landing labels put in the course of dismantle). 2. Screw bolts of fastening of assembly of reechny transfer (do not forget to enclose under heads of bolts of a washer) and tighten them with demanded effort. 3. Screw a tip on the left draft, then fill both tips in levers of rotary fists (see. Removal and installation of tips of steering drafts). 4. Connect to a case of the steering mechanism the hydraulic PAS lines. 5. Restore initial connection of drafts of a drive of transmission (see. Head a gear shifting Box) and the catalytic converter (see. Head of the Power supply system and release). 6. Lower the car on the earth, screw a coupling bolt of an intermediate shaft and tighten it with demanded effort. Establish into place a cover of the connecting hinge of a steering column and fix it collars. Track, that the cover flange correctly was put on by landing openings directing pins on a partition of an impellent compartment (see an illustration to paragraph 1, Removal). 7. Fill in in the tank of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel necessary amount of liquid of a demanded grade (see. Head Routine maintenance). Remove air from steering system (see. Air removal from a hydraulic path of system of strengthening of a wheel).
