1. Need for adjustment of klapanny gaps arises after replacement or repair of components of the klapanny mechanism.
2. The simplest way of check of valves is engine listening at an open cowl. To need of carrying out adjustment points the raised noise background published by the klapanny mechanism.

Adjustment

Check and adjustment of gaps of valves are made at the cold engine.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Uncover heads of cylinders (see the corresponding Part of Head the Engine).
2. Having turned a cranked shaft, bring the piston of the first cylinder into the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression (see. Head Engine). The shaft is turned in the direction of normal rotation (clockwise) until VMT label on its pulley will not be combined with the index on the bottom cover of a gas-distributing belt, and UP label on a cogwheel (ah) a camshaft (ов) will not appear in situation at 12 o'clock.

3. Having brought the engine into this situation, it is possible to start check and adjustment of valves of the first cylinder (see an accompanying illustration).

4a. Begin with the inlet valve. Fill the demanded thickness an edge measuring щупа (see. Specifications) in a gap between an end face of a core of the valve and a yoke of a drive of the valve (Civic model), or a working ledge of the corresponding cam of an inlet camshaft and the lever of a drive of the valve (Integra model) (see accompanying illustrations).

4b. Shchup should slip in a gap with insignificant resistance. In case of need weaken a lock-nut and weaken the adjusting screw, then start to tighten the screw, achieving demanded effect on an edge щупа.

5. Having fixed the adjusting screw from a provorachivaniye a screw-driver, tighten a lock-nut (see an accompanying illustration). Make sure that the gap in the course of a tightening of a nut did not change, then, operating in a similar manner, serially adjust gaps of the second inlet valve and two final.

6. Having turned a cranked shaft on 180 ° counter-clockwise (the pulley of a camshaft should be turned on 90 °), bring into the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression the piston of the third cylinder. Thus UP label on a cogwheel (ah) a camshaft (ов) should pass to situation at 9 o'clock. Check and adjust valves of the third cylinder.
7. Turn a cranked shaft for 180 ° counter-clockwise (the label (and) UP will fall down at 6 o'clock) and adjust valves of the fourth cylinder.
8. Having once again turned a cranked shaft on 180 ° (the label (and) UP should pass to situation at 3 o'clock). Also repeat procedure for valves of the second cylinder.
9. Having finished adjustment of valves, establish into place a cover of a head of cylinders (see the corresponding Part of Head the Engine).
