The conscientious attitude to regular check of a condition of tires will allow the driver to avoid the annoying delays connected with an exit of a wheel out of operation during movement. Besides, on nature of wear of protectors it is possible to reveal beforehand the developments which were at a stage defects of components of a suspension bracket and a steering drive.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The minimum admissible depth of a protector makes 1.6 mm. To estimate degree of wear of a protector it is possible by means of the special inexpensive adaptation (see an accompanying illustration) – ask in shops of automobile accessories.

2. Pay attention to any signs of non-uniform wear of a protector. Such local defects of a protector as a chashevidny wipe, uploshcheniye, etc., are usually obliged by the emergence to violations of corners of installation of forward wheels, or balancing of the last. For identification and elimination of malfunctions the car should be driven away in a specialized workshop of car-care center or on car repair shop.

3a. Attentively examine tires of all wheels on existence of cuts, punctures and got stuck in flutes of a pattern of a protector of extraneous subjects. Sometimes the punched wheel during any time continues to hold in itself air in view of that the subject which has punctured the tire continues to remain thrust in it. 3b. Attentively check a protector on existence of the subjects which have got stuck in it or violation of tightness of landing of repair "jams" by means of which repair of small punctures of the tire is made. To make sure available a puncture it is easily possible by wetting of a suspected site of a surface of the tire by solution of soap water (see an accompanying illustration) – if the puncture takes place, water will start to bubble. 5. Remember that it is correct to measure pressure in the tire by eye it is almost impossible, in particular, if it is a question of tires of a radial design. It is necessary to hold constantly near at hand a suitable manometer, – on gas stations and car repair shops it is not necessary to trust indications of measuring instruments of compressors of pumping.
6. Check pressure of a rating of tires at cold wheels, – it is meant that the car passed no more than one mile within the last three hours. Remember that increase of pressure upon 0.3 ÷ 0.6 kgfs/cm 2 as a result of a warming up of a wheel is quite normal phenomenon.

7. Remove from the gate of a rating of a wheel a protective cap and densely press a manometer nozzle to an exhaust outlet of the gate, having wrung out a nipple rod (see an accompanying illustration). Consider the read instrument and compare it to standard data, in case of need correct pressure.

8. Do not forget to screw on a place a protective cap of the gate in order to avoid hit in a moisture and dirt nipple. Check pressure in all wheels, including the spare.

Pressure of a rating запаски is usually much higher than compact type, than at usual wheels.
