Safety cushions – the general information

General information

All models considered in the real Management are equipped with system of the additional safety (SRS) which is better known under the name of safety cushions. Two safety cushions are included in an obligatory complete set. The system provides additional protection of the driver and the forward passenger of the car at strong front blow.

The system consists of the SRS block with included in it the sensor of the directed overloads, the control sensor, a contour of self-diagnostics and a feedback contour. The block is located under the dashboard, directly ahead of the central console. Modules of safety cushions are built in in the central part of a steering wheel and the right part of the dashboard of the car (it is direct over a ware box).

Functioning principle

Necessary condition of activation of safety cushions is operation of the sensor of the directed overloads and the control sensor. Operation of sensors leads to short circuit of a chain of modules and instant filling of pillows with gas. In case of battery failure operation of pillows occurs at the expense of the energy developed by knot built in in the SRS block of feedback.

System of self-diagnostics of refusals of SRS

The system of self-diagnostics of SRS makes inclusion of a control lamp on an instrument guard of the car at ignition key turn in the situation ON. If the system does not find any deviations, the lamp should go out about 6 seconds later. If shutdown of a control lamp does not occur, or the lamp works during car movement, therefore, in SRS system malfunction is found. For check of system and elimination of a cause of failure the car should be driven away on car repair shop.

Service of the knots located near the SRS components

In case of need removal of a steering wheel, or carrying out service of a radio receiver or other components located near the dashboard try not to allow rassoyedineniye of electric sockets of a chain of SRS. At all do not connect to SRS chain any diagnostic equipment. AT SERVICE of ALL COMPONENTS LOCATED NEAR SAFETY CUSHIONS ALWAYS PREVIOUSLY DISCONNECT SRS (see below).

SRS system shutdown

The SRS system should be disconnected each time at performance of procedures of service of the components located near safety cushions!

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect from the battery at first a negative wire, then positive.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Connect tips crossing points (red color) to sockets of safety cushions (see below).

Driver's safety cushion

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Uncover the access, located under the safety cushion module, then remove red color the tip crossing point (see an accompanying illustration).

2. Disunite the 2-contact socket established between the module of a safety cushion and a cable drum.
3. Enter the tip crossing point into the 3-contact socket from a safety cushion.

Passenger safety cushion

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a ware box (see. Head Body).

2. Disunite the electric socket located between the module of a passenger safety cushion and the main plait of electroconducting of SRS. Enter the tip crossing point into the socket from a pillow (see an accompanying illustration).

SRS system activation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To install SRS system after its shutdown (for the purpose of performance of procedures of service of any components), take from sockets red tips crossing points, then restore initial connection of electroconducting (to a cable drum and the main plait of SRS) establish tips crossing points in the holders and return into place an access cover / a ware box.
2. Switch off ignition.
3. Connect the battery (at first a positive wire, then negative).

Removal and installation of modules of safety cushions

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect SRS system (see above).
2. The description of procedure of removal of the module of a driver's safety cushion is provided in Head the Suspension bracket and a steering.

3. For removal of a passenger safety cushion turn out two fixing screws (see an accompanying illustration).

4. Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to make system activation (see above).
